Private Upper GI Endoscopy & Stomach Diagnostics

Diagnostic Gastroscopy

A gastroscopy (upper GI endoscopy) is a safe and highly informative diagnostic examination where an expert consultant gastroenterologist examines the lining of your oesophagus, stomach, and the first part of your small intestine (duodenum). It is the gold standard for diagnosing acid reflux, Barrett's oesophagus, stomach ulcers, coeliac disease, and swallowing difficulties, with rapid appointments and same-day results review.

Patient Guidance

How to Prepare for Your Gastroscopy

Clear pre-procedure guidance to ensure your comfort, safety, and an accurate diagnostic examination.

To ensure your stomach is completely empty so the consultant has a clear, unobstructed view, you must not eat any solid food for 6 to 8 hours before your appointment. You may drink small sips of clear water up to 2 hours before your arrival time. Having an empty stomach is also essential for your safety when receiving sedation.
Clinical Conditions

What Conditions Does a Gastroscopy Diagnose?

A gastroscopy enables direct high-definition visual inspection and biopsy sampling to identify a wide spectrum of upper gastrointestinal disorders:

Acid Reflux & GORDAssessing inflammation and damage to the oesophageal lining caused by stomach acid.
Barrett's OesophagusScreening for precancerous cell changes with specialised Narrow Band Imaging (NBI).
Stomach & Peptic UlcersDetecting ulcers, bleeding points, and gastritis in the stomach wall or duodenum.
